I began producing websites pretty much right when websites started appearing, around 1994. My first project was for Atlanta Magazine in preparation for the upcoming Olympic games. I moved on from there to work for weather.com, still one of the most visited sites on the web.
My interest in the internet then took me to the Big Apple where I attended graduate school at NYU for Interactive Telecommunications. There I learned about design and also picked up some valuable programming skills.
When I finished grad school I found myself smack in the middle of the dotcom bubble. Ahhhh, the life. I worked for three years at Scient, an e-business consulting firm. The people there were great and the client work was exciting and cutting-edge. My clients included Major League Baseball, Johnson and Johnson, Pepsi and several financial services companies.
Inevitably, the bubble burst and I moved to DC with my husband. I worked part-time for two years for National Geographic as a producer for their online edition of National Geographic Magazine. The imagery and design from the magazine was inspiring, and they were beginning to break through with some exciting new technological advances in online publishing.
Three kids later, I find myself in my home state of North Carolina, busier than ever. My business is exciting and stimulating and my family keeps me going. When I'm not working I enjoy cooking, reading and triathloning.
